मान लें original quantity 10 contracts है।
Cancellation workflow से पहले या उसके आसपास तीन fill हो जाते हैं।
इसलिए final record दिखा सकता है:
केवल final “Cancelled” label देखने वाला trader गलत तरीके से conclude कर सकता है कि कुछ trade नहीं हुआ।
केवल final status word नहीं, cumulative fills और leaves quantity हमेशा reconcile करें।
Futures orders कई prices पर fill क्यों होते हैं cumulative fill reconciliation समझाता है।

Cancel reject भी possible outcome है
Cancel request order state बदलने का request है।
CME order-entry protocol ऐसी cancellation rejection भी support करता है जब request honor न की जा सके।
Applicable workflow के तहत order-state या request-reference reasons से ऐसा हो सकता है।
User-interface animation या disabled button को exchange confirmation न मानें।

Old state जाने बिना replacement न भेजें
Common operational error है कि 5-contract order cancel करके first order की final state confirm किए बिना तुरंत दूसरा 5-contract order भेज दिया जाए।
यदि cancellation race के दौरान old order में 2 contracts fill हों और new order में 5 fill हों, तो resulting exposure 7 contracts हो सकती है।
Replacement का उद्देश्य size 5 बनाए रखना था, लेकिन exposure बढ़ गई।
Safer reconciliation question है:
final position = prior position + all confirmed fills.
Canceled quantity trade नहीं है और position में add नहीं होनी चाहिए।
Network और interface timing true sequence छिपा सकती है
Order ticket, broker server, order-entry gateway, matching engine और market-data feed एक clock नहीं हैं।
Message path में कहीं fill पहले हो जाने के बाद screen Pending Cancel दिखा सकती है।
User ने cancel click किया हो उसके बाद fill notification आ सकती है, भले venue पर fill event पहले हुआ हो।
Sequence reconstruct करने के लिए exchange या broker timestamps उपयोग करें।
Popup notifications के visual order को event order का proof न मानें।
