जब company केवल अपना नाम या trading symbol बदलती है, तो open options सामान्यतः पुराने option root से नए root पर चले जाते हैं। केवल label बदलने से position बिकती, expire या duplicate नहीं होती। 2026 के OCC name-and-symbol-change memo में option और underlying symbols बदले, लेकिन strike prices और बाकी सभी terms वही रहे; contract अब भी 100 shares deliver करता था और 100 premium multiplier इस्तेमाल करता था। यदि साथ में merger, split, reclassification या distribution हो, तो memo वास्तविक contract adjustment बता सकता है
Pure ticker change position को बनाए रखता है
Trading symbol identifier है, अपने आप economic asset नहीं। Effective date पर broker और clearing system old stock और option roots को new roots से replace कर सकते हैं। वही long या short position open रहती है, original acquisition date और profit-and-loss history के साथ
Pure name और symbol change में expiration, call या put type, strike, contract count, exercise style, premium multiplier और 100-share deliverable सामान्यतः unchanged रहते हैं। Displayed market price सामान्य market reasons से बदल सकती है, लेकिन rename अपने आप gain, loss, exercise या assignment नहीं बनाता
Option root को official mapping follow करनी चाहिए
OCC information memos old option symbol, new symbol, effective date, underlying security, multiplier, strike divisor, deliverable और CUSIP बताते हैं। June 2026 के example में IAC options business open होते समय PPLI में बदले, जबकि strikes और बाकी terms नहीं बदले
Broker screens अलग समय पर update हो सकती हैं। Old root कुछ समय watchlist से गायब हो सकता है, chart history खो सकती है या position placeholder दिखा सकती है। Option गायब समझने से पहले new root खोजें और expiration, strike, call या put, quantity तथा deliverable मिलाएँ
Numeric suffix केवल rename से अधिक भी बता सकता है
Adjusted option roots में numeral जुड़ सकता है, लेकिन numeral सिर्फ identifier है। इससे यह पता नहीं चलता कि deliverable में कम shares, cash, दूसरी company का stock, rights या कई assets हैं। Pure ticker change भी existing adjusted roots को corresponding new adjusted roots पर map कर सकता है
Corporate events अलग-अलग पहचानें। Issuer साथ में reverse split, merger, spinoff, special distribution या share reclassification पूरा करे तो pure-symbol rule न लगाएँ। Applicable OCC memo में हर deliverable component और pricing formula पढ़ें। समान strike वाले दो roots आर्थिक रूप से अलग contracts हो सकते हैं
Effective date के बाद orders और records जाँचें
Open positions सामान्यतः migrate हो जाती हैं, लेकिन working orders broker या exchange cancel कर सकते हैं क्योंकि old symbol valid नहीं रहता। Limit prices, multi-leg relationships, alerts, covered-call links, tax lots और automated strategy दोबारा जाँचें। Old order active नहीं है, यह confirm किए बिना new root पर दूसरा closing order न भेजें
Display inconsistent हो तो OCC memo number save करें और broker से old root, new root, OCC series और deliverable reconcile कराएँ। Profit and loss को continuing contract और actual economic terms से देखें, chart reset या temporary zero cost basis से नहीं

Company ticker बदलने पर क्या मेरे options गायब हो जाते हैं?
आमतौर पर नहीं। Effective date पर open series नए option root पर migrate होती है। Systems update होने तक broker old symbol, placeholder या missing history दिखा सकता है, इसलिए new series को expiration, strike, type, quantity और OCC memo से मिलाएँ
क्या ticker change option strike या expiration बदलता है?
Pure name या symbol change में नहीं। OCC examples strikes और बाकी terms unchanged रखते हैं। साथ में merger, split, distribution या reclassification हो तो terms बदल सकते हैं, इसलिए event description और deliverable जाँचें
क्या stock-symbol change मेरे option की taxable sale है?

Old symbol के working option orders का क्या करूँ?
Effective date के बाद status जाँचें। कुछ brokers old root से जुड़े orders cancel या reject करते हैं, जबकि positions अपने आप migrate होती हैं। Replacement डालने से पहले cancellation confirm करें और सही new series के साथ multi-leg या conditional orders फिर बनाएँ
